Tara Rocks

Well, she does…

I don’t remember when i first heard this song, i think it might have been my grandparents, or perhaps a record they let me listen to when i was finally a big kid, old enough to put the needle on the record myself with no scratches.  i recall an album complete with lyrics on the insert paper.  bicycle built for two, buffalo gals, inchworm, were these all on the same album or is my memory mixing things up all these long years later.  i wonder where that album is now, i have a record player and can imagine many rainy days curled up on a couch with a book in my hands listening to those songs, there was no repeat or shuffle, you listened through and then either turned it over for the next set of songs or listened to the shhh, shhhh, shhh as it continued to spin after the music was done.

BUT! i digress, this post it about my inchworm, i have no marigolds, so he is measuring some pretty pink flowers, and i hope that he will indeed go far.  i cannot see an inchworm or hear the word inchworm without this song floating lazily through my head

for your reference in case no one else knows the song  here you go…

Inchworm, Inchworm,
Measuring the marigolds,
Seems to me you’d stop and see
How beautiful they are.
