Mom and Granny were busy with something and it was HOT outside. There was no pool to play in, the slip and slide had offered it last slide ages ago, and we just wanted to cool off a little. We found something that our young brains thought would work just fine. Put it on a slope, add a little water from the spigot by the garden and voila! A redneck waterslide!
Turns out it was NOT a good idea, the ugly scar on my knee reminds me nearly every day that corrugated tin sheets do not a good water slide make.

Corrugated tin sheets for a slide. Yikes!!! One does not have to be a redneck to do a silly thing like that. We all did stupid things when we were kids. Nice take on the prompt.

Ouch! It could have been much worse. 🙂 Nice one.

NOT so much fun on a HOT day after all. Sorry about that.

you are right, it did make a good slide for a while, clearly it was too good to last 🙂

Ah yes, fond(?) memories of childhood flashes of genius, or what seemed like genius at the time! Why, I could tell you stories….but I’ll spare you. Nice lead-in describing the situation without letting us figure out ahead of time where the story would end up!

the memories now, 30 odd years later are very fond 🙂

I liked the emphasis of HOT and NOT ha. How many people have scars like this I wonder? Childhood ideas gone very wrong.

OMG! My knees are still hurting. While I’m sure the HOT TIN was the object, I also have images of sliced limbs. OUCH!!

oh there was definitely also a big cut on my knee… we had to weigh the amount of trouble we were going to be in with how bad the cut was and would it take more than a bandaid to repair.. telling mom and granny won out when we couldn’t get the bleeding to stop 🙂

Ouch and I feel there could be a burned bottom or two somewhere in here unless the water really did a good job of cooling down the metal!! I like “a redneck waterslide.”
